KOHAT – In a shocking incident, Malik Asad, the elder brother of martyred DIG Malik Saad Shaheed, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Kohat on Monday.
According to local sources, the attack took place in an area falling between the jurisdictions of Billi Tang and Gumbat police stations. Malik Asad’s driver was also injured in the ambush. The attackers managed to flee the scene immediately after the assault.
Malik Asad was the brother of the late Malik Saad, a revered former City Police Officer (CCPO) of Peshawar, who was martyred in a suicide bombing while on duty.
Following the attack, a heavy contingent of police arrived at the crime scene, collected forensic evidence, and initiated a formal investigation.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the targeted killing, and a search operation is underway to apprehend the culprits.
