Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has highlighted a notable reduction in terrorist incidents following the tightening of Pakistan’s borders with Afghanistan. Addressing the media, he provided an overview of major attacks in the past year and emphasized the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and border security measures in curbing cross-border terrorism.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry stated that ten major terrorist incidents occurred in the previous year, targeting both civilians and security installations. Among the notable attacks were:

He noted that Peshawar also witnessed a repeated attack on the Federal Constabulary Headquarters, illustrating the persistent threat posed by terrorist networks.
Significantly, DG ISPR confirmed that Afghans were involved in all ten major terrorist incidents, highlighting the cross-border nature of these attacks. He added that every militant attempting to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan is neutralized, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its citizens.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry further stated that the closure of borders has contributed to a measurable decline in terrorist incidents, showcasing the effectiveness of coordinated border security, intelligence operations, and counterterrorism measures.
“The state remains vigilant, and through these combined efforts, we have successfully reduced the impact of terrorism on our people,” he said, underlining that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism is a national struggle involving security forces and citizens alike.
