Blowback: Five Khawarij Killed While Planting IED in Khyber’s Tirah Valley

In a twist of fate, five terrorists from the banned militant group Fitna al-Khawarij (FAK) or the banned Tehreek-e -Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed while planting an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Tirah Valley of Khyber District.

The incident occurred in the early hours between August 2 and 3, near Salar Chowk in the Batai area of Tirah. According to security sources, the IED detonated prematurely as the militants were planting it on a route leading toward the Salar Complex.

The device detonated prematurely, killing all five militants on the spot.

Sources further revealed that the slain terrorists were close associates of notorious TTP commanders Usman alias Laram and Yasir Afghan. Their deaths are seen as a significant blow to the operational wing of the group in the region.
