Blood and Business Cannot Coexist: DG ISPR Warns Taliban Over Border Attacks

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Pakistan’s Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR), delivered a stern warning to the Afghan Taliban, saying that attacks on Pakistan cannot continue while trade and business take place. “Blood and business cannot run together,” he said, emphasizing that the government will not tolerate cross‑border militancy alongside commerce.

Speaking to journalists, he highlighted that Pakistan recorded 4,729 terrorist incidents this year, with 3,357 of them reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone. He noted that areas along the Afghan border, including the Tirah Valley, remain vulnerable due to lack of administration and judicial presence, allowing terrorism to thrive.

The DG ISPR also pointed out that 29 tribes inhabit the border region and called for additional security posts and drone surveillance to strengthen monitoring. He raised concerns about unchecked vehicles entering the country from across the border, with over 450,000 non‑custom paid vehicles circulating, questioning who is responsible for controlling them.

Chaudhry underlined that Pakistan’s issue is with the Taliban regime, not Afghan nationals. He reiterated that the state would act decisively to ensure security: “We are on the side of truth, and we will prevail.”

The DG’s comments come amid ongoing concerns over border security, highlighting the government’s determination to confront militancy and safeguard trade, while making clear that attacks on Pakistan will not be tolerated.
