A blast occurred near an armoured police vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing two police personnel. According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, the explosion took place in the Kallachi area of Hathala. A search operation is currently underway in the vicinity to secure the area.
Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that security forces conducted two operations in Kurram District based on actionable intelligence. In a targeted operation, an exchange of fire resulted in the elimination of 12 militants linked to extremist groups. In a second operation against another group of militants in the district, 11 more terrorists were neutralised.
The operations underscore the continued efforts of Pakistan’s security forces to maintain law and order and counter terrorism across the region.
