BLA Commander Killed in Own Landmine Blast, Dera Bugti

Landmine, The Banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Terrorism & Counterterrorism in Balochistan

A commander of the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) was killed after accidentally triggering a landmine he had planted.

Security sources report that the device had been intended for targeting law enforcement personnel or rival factions. However, the commander inadvertently stepped on the explosive, causing a powerful detonation that proved fatal on the spot.

No other casualties were reported. The incident highlights the inherent dangers of militant operations, and the operational risks militants face from their own explosives.

Balochistan has seen several such accidents in recent months, with self-planted landmines proving lethal to both militants and, at times, civilians. Authorities continue to maintain heightened vigilance in the region while pursuing counterterrorism measures.

Officials emphasized that operations against militant networks will continue without interruption to prevent further threats to public safety.
