BDU Report Reveals Quantity of Explosives Used in Attack on FC HQ, Peshawar

The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) has completed a detailed report on the terrorist attack targeting the Federal Constabulary (FC) Headquarters on November 24, confirming the use of highly organized tactics and significant explosive material by the attackers. According to the BDU, the assailants employed approximately 20 kilograms of explosives, divided into two sections in suicide jackets worn on the front and back of the attackers.

Analysis of the recovered fragments indicates that the blast radius could have caused damage up to 30 meters, underscoring the potentially catastrophic scale of the attack. Investigators confirmed that the detonations were carried out via suicide mechanisms, with no evidence of remote control triggers. In addition to the suicide jackets, authorities recovered eight hand grenades, small-sized ball bearings measuring 2 millimeters, and two feet of primacord from the scene, highlighting the sophistication and lethal intent behind the assault.

The BDU report emphasizes that the attack was meticulously planned, demonstrating both operational coordination and advanced knowledge of explosive devices. Thanks to the timely response of security personnel, the attackers were unable to inflict even greater casualties, preventing what could have been a significantly more devastating incident.

Tragically, three FC personnel were martyred during the attack, and five others were injured. The assault also resulted in injuries to eight civilians present at or near the site. Authorities collected extensive evidence from the blast location, which will aid ongoing investigations into the network behind the attack.

The findings underscore the continued threat posed by organized terrorist groups and the importance of preparedness, rapid response, and coordinated action by security forces. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to investigating the incident, pursuing the perpetrators, and ensuring the safety of citizens and law enforcement personnel across the region.

The Federal Constabulary and allied security agencies urged the public to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate fully with authorities to prevent further terrorist incidents. The BDU report provides critical insights that will enhance counterterrorism measures and reinforce the operational readiness of security agencies tasked with protecting strategic installations and public safety.
