Bannu, In a late-night assault, Khawarij targeted the Fatah Khel police checkpost in Bannu district, martyring one police constable and injuring three others.
According to police, the attackers used heavy weaponry during the assault. The martyred officer was identified as Constable Niaz, while the injured personnel include Constable Munir, Constable Sudad, and Constable Mufti Mehmood.
Police responded with a swift and effective counterattack, killing three Khawarij on the spot.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bannu stated that the police remain steadfast on the frontlines against terrorism. “Our officers know how to give a strong response to cowardly attacks. Such acts cannot break our resolve,” he affirmed.
