Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
During the session, the Army Chief described Balochistan as the pride of Pakistan, home to strong, patriotic, and resilient people who are the province’s true asset. He spoke about the ongoing development projects by both federal and provincial governments aimed at improving the lives of the people through a people-first approach.
He stressed the need to unlock Balochistan’s vast economic potential to benefit its population and highlighted the important role of civil society, especially the youth, in driving sustainable development and countering negative political influences.
The COAS strongly condemned anti-state propaganda pushed by Indian-backed groups, referring to them as Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij. He assured that all necessary steps are being taken to eliminate these terrorist threats from the province.
He added that while Pakistan desires peace in the region, any violation of its borders, whether direct or indirect, will be dealt with firmly to ensure the safety and security of its people.
The session ended with an open Q&A discussion between the COAS and participants.
