Operations, Security Forces, South Waziristan and Bannu, Bajaur and Khyber, Intelligence-Based-Operation in Dera Ismail Khan

Security forces killed thirteen militants during a series of intelligence-driven operations carried out in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on March 6 and 7, according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations.

The operations were part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign targeting militants described by the military as belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij.

In one intelligence-based operation in Bajaur District, security forces engaged a militant hideout after receiving actionable intelligence. An intense exchange of fire followed during which five militants were killed.

In two separate encounters in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan, security personnel neutralized three more militants during engagements with armed suspects.

Simultaneously, two additional operations were conducted in Khyber District and South Waziristan, where security forces killed five militants during armed clashes.

According to the statement, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were described as being involved in multiple attacks targeting security forces and civilians in the region.

Security officials said the operations were conducted as part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to counter militant threats emerging along areas bordering Afghanistan.

The military reiterated that sanitization operations were underway to clear the affected areas of any remaining militants. Officials added that the counterterrorism campaign under the national framework Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, would continue until militant networks operating in the country are dismantled.
