Tribal elders at a grand jirga held in Mamund, Bajaur, on Saturday reaffirmed their commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army in defence of the country, pledging to render every sacrifice for national security and peace. The jirga, organised under the auspices of Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (North), was attended by Inspector General FC North, officials of the civil administration, tribal elders, and a large number of local residents.
Addressing the gathering, officials briefed participants on intelligence-based operations underway in the region following reports of the presence of Khawarij. They underlined that such operations were being conducted to ensure lasting peace and stability in Bajaur and adjoining areas.
Tribal elders and notables, in their speeches, paid glowing tribute to the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces for the restoration of peace. They vowed that the tribes would continue to fight alongside the Pakistan Army against every threat to the motherland.
The jirga resounded with slogans in favour of Pakistan and its armed forces as the participants expressed unwavering solidarity with the security forces. Elders and local residents also expressed gratitude to the Army for arranging the jirga and for ensuring the timely return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs), noting that the initiative reflected the Army’s enduring commitment to the well-being of the tribal people.
