Turbat: Authorities have strongly rejected circulating claims regarding an alleged improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Kech district, declaring the reports entirely false, fabricated, and part of a coordinated disinformation campaign.

According to official sources, no such incident has taken place in the area, and the viral claims being shared on social media are baseless and misleading. Security officials stated that a review of ground reports and field verification confirmed the absence of any explosion or related activity in the region.

Officials further noted that malicious narratives are being spread through certain social media accounts in an attempt to create confusion and distort the security situation. They warned that such disinformation efforts often intensify during sensitive geopolitical developments and ongoing diplomatic engagements.

At the time of these false claims circulating online, high-level diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran were underway in Islamabad under Pakistan’s facilitation, drawing significant international attention.

Authorities said such fabricated content is designed to undermine confidence in the situation and mislead the public, urging citizens to rely only on verified and official sources for information.

Security officials reiterated that law enforcement agencies remain alert and fully capable of responding to any genuine threat, while stressing that spreading unverified reports can harm public order and create unnecessary panic.

They also urged social media users to exercise responsibility and avoid amplifying unverified claims, particularly during periods of heightened regional sensitivity, where misinformation can quickly escalate tensions.

Officials concluded by reaffirming that no security incident occurred in Kech and that the situation in the area remains under control.
