Attempted Drone Strike on Bannu Police Station Foiled, Area Secured

An attempted drone-based attack targeting Police Station Miryan in Bannu was successfully thwarted on last night, with no loss of life or property, according to official police sources.

At approximately 8:00 PM, militants carried out two consecutive drone attacks on Police Station Miryan. In the first incident, an explosive payload was dropped outside the main entrance of the police station, resulting in a blast. Shortly afterward, a second explosive device detonated at the rear side of the facility. Despite the coordinated nature of the attack, no casualties or material damage were reported.

Approximately ten minutes later (around 8:10 PM), a third drone dropped an explosive device near the police station, striking a civilian residence owned by Khandan Khan. Once again, no injuries or damage were recorded, highlighting both the resilience of local infrastructure and the swift response of security forces.

Immediately following the incidents, police and security forces cordoned off the entire area, deploying a heavy contingent to prevent any further threat. A search and clearance operation was launched, and forensic teams began collecting evidence from multiple impact sites to aid the investigation.

Police officials confirmed that the situation is fully under control, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the drones, identify those responsible, and determine the broader intent behind the attempted attacks.

According to police authorities, the incidents appear to be an attempt to spread fear and disrupt law and order, but the failure of the attacks reflects the state of preparedness and vigilance of law enforcement agencies in the region.
