Army Chief General Asim Munir Criticizes Social Media, Reaffirms Commitment to Overcome Challenges in Pakistan’s Path

Islamabad – Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir delivered a powerful message to the nation, urging citizens to face challenges head-on and overcome them with resilience. Speaking at the inaugural convention of Overseas Pakistanis, General Munir said, “If you face any difficulties, confront them and pave the way to your destination, as promised by Allah. With His will, despite all obstacles, we will surely reach our destination.”

In his address, the Army Chief strongly criticized the irresponsible use of social media, referring to a Quranic verse that warns against spreading unverified information. He said, “The Quran advises that when a sinful person brings information to you, verify it thoroughly so that you do not harm others out of ignorance and regret it later. But on social media, it’s all about forwarding information as received!”

He also highlighted the historical significance of Pakistan’s creation, stating that only two states in the history of the world were founded on the basis of the Kalma (Islamic declaration of faith). “One was the State of Madinah, and the other was Pakistan, founded 1300 years later, based on the two-nation theory,” General Munir added.

On the topic of governance, General Munir emphasized that a state in which all institutions operate according to the constitution and law is known as a “hard state.” He reiterated that Pakistan’s institutions are working diligently within the framework of the law.

Turning to the issue of terrorism in Balochistan, General Munir made a strong statement against the 1,500 terrorists operating in the region. He asserted, “These terrorists cannot take away Pakistan’s future. In the coming days, there will be decisive action against them.” Addressing concerns over the security situation, the Army Chief rejected claims that terrorism is hindering investment in the province. He called such statements “propaganda” and assured that the security situation would not prevent economic growth in Balochistan.

General Munir concluded with a message of hope and resilience, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to overcoming its challenges and moving forward as a strong, united nation.
