Armed Forces Mark 27th Youm-e-Takbeer as a Testament to Pakistan’s Strategic Resolve, National Unity and Peace Doctrine: ISPR

The Armed Forces of Pakistan, along with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs, have paid tribute to the nation on the 27th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer the day Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power and restored strategic equilibrium in South Asia.

In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Youm-e-Takbeer is remembered as a defining moment in the country’s history when, on May 28, 1998, Pakistan demonstrated its nuclear capability, securing its sovereign right to self-defence and reinforcing regional stability. The achievement, the statement said, reflects the nation’s collective resolve, unity, and unwavering pursuit of a peaceful and dignified future.

The ISPR emphasised that Pakistan’s strategic capability is a sacred national trust, embodying the aspirations of its people. Commemorating Youm-e-Takbeer is a tribute to the foresight of visionary leadership, the brilliance of Pakistani scientists and engineers, and the sacrifices of all those who contributed to making the country’s defence invincible.

“This day reaffirms our unshakeable commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the statement read. “It validates our principled doctrine of credible minimum deterrence, which underpins our resolve to maintain peace and strategic stability in the region.”

The Armed Forces reiterated their preparedness to confront any threat to the motherland, declaring that Pakistan’s nuclear capability is exclusively defensive in nature and stands as a guarantor of lasting peace.

The statement called upon the nation to renew its collective resolve to remain vigilant, united, and steadfast in the pursuit of national security, progress, and prosperity. “Let us honour this day by reaffirming our pledge to build a strong, stable, and self reliant Pakistan,” it said.

The Armed Forces expressed complete solidarity with the people, paid homage to the sacrifices that made this milestone possible, and pledged to carry forward the mission of national resilience with unwavering dedication.
