Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of acting in line with anti-state elements and supporting efforts abroad, particularly in the United States, to pass resolutions against Pakistan. He said such actions run counter to patriotism and damage national interests.
Speaking to the media at the Green Productivity Conference in Lahore, the minister alleged that PTI, in coordination with Israel and India, was attempting to malign Pakistan internationally. He added that both India and PTI express the strongest discomfort whenever Pakistan negotiates an International Monetary Fund programme, claiming that the party has crossed every limit in promoting what he described as politics of hatred.
Ahsan Iqbal further said that organising protests in the United States against a former field marshal and supporting attacks on military installations reflect an extremely dangerous pattern. He stressed that PTI must understand the difference between the state and politics, noting that actions harming national security and dignity cannot be tolerated.
The minister criticised the party for taking Pakistan’s domestic political disputes to the global stage, calling it shameful and aligned with the interests of hostile actors. He also alleged that PTI is working with lobbyists abroad to discredit the country.
During the conference, Ahsan Iqbal highlighted the importance of green technology and environmentally friendly policymaking. He said Pakistan must invest in green industry and digital technology to secure its future economic prospects. The minister added that rapid economic progress requires coordinated institutional strategy to strengthen investment and technological development.
