Afghanistan Freedom Front Kills Three Taliban in Coordinated Kabul Strikes

In a significant escalation of urban resistance, the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) carried out two coordinated attacks against Taliban forces in Kabul on Saturday evening, killing three militants and injuring four others, the group announced in an official statement.

According to the AFF, the first operation targeted a Taliban compound near Pul-e-Pacha in Police District 16. Guerrilla fighters reportedly stormed the facility, killing one Taliban member and wounding two others before retreating without casualties.

The second attack occurred near the Kabul police headquarters in the city’s central zone, where AFF fighters ambushed a Taliban checkpoint. Two militants were killed in the strike and two more sustained injuries.

“These successful operations are part of our continued struggle to liberate Afghanistan from the grip of terrorism,” the statement from the Freedom Front read, adding that the group remains committed to intensifying its campaign across major urban centers.

The Taliban have yet to issue a response regarding the incidents. Independent verification of the claims remains limited due to restricted media access in several parts of the capital.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front—comprising former members of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), intelligence officers, and political dissidents—has emerged as one of the most active armed resistance movements since the Taliban seized power in August 2021. The group has consistently carried out targeted attacks on Taliban convoys, checkpoints, and compounds, particularly in Kabul and northern provinces.

Analysts say the continued presence and activity of organized resistance groups like the AFF underscores persistent instability and public discontent under Taliban rule, despite the group’s claims of establishing nationwide security.
