Afghanistan Freedom Front Claims Deadly Attack on Taliban Forces in Central Kabul

The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has claimed responsibility for a deadly attack in Kabul’s First Security District on Monday evening, asserting that its fighters killed three members of the Taliban in a targeted strike. In an official statement, the AFF said its operatives targeted a Taliban military vehicle near the Chaman-e-Hozori gate, a location in central Kabul known for its proximity to key administrative areas.

Local residents reported hearing a loud explosion at the time of the incident, which occurred during peak evening hours. The blast reportedly shook nearby neighborhoods and caused temporary panic among civilians.

Shortly after the incident, the AFF released a video it claims captures the moment of the attack. The footage features the sound of a powerful explosion, and according to the group, confirms that the vehicle belonged to Taliban forces. The AFF stated that none of its fighters were injured in the operation.

As of the time of reporting, Taliban authorities have not issued any official comment or confirmation regarding the incident or casualties. The Afghanistan Freedom Front, an armed resistance group opposed to Taliban rule, has stepped up operations in recent months, particularly in Kabul and key northern provinces. Monday’s strike is one of the most high-profile attacks claimed by the group in the capital in recent weeks.

Security in Kabul has remained tense amid growing threats from resistance groups and ISIS-K, both of which continue to challenge the Taliban’s control through sporadic but targeted attacks. This latest incident is likely to raise further questions about the Taliban’s ability to secure the capital, even in areas considered under firm control.
