The confessional statement of an Afghan foreign terrorist, identified as Sutore Khogiana, has surfaced on social media, in which he admits to planning the target killing of a religious scholar in Peshawar on the instructions of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commanders based in Kabul.
According to his statement, Sutore revealed that he is a resident of Nangarhar, Afghanistan. He completed his intermediate education at Government College Hazarat Khan in Nangarhar and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) from Ghazni University. He also taught at Abdullah Ibn Zubair Madrassa in Kabul.
The militant said he was employed in the medicine delivery business in Nangarhar, where an individual named Asim invited him to join the TTP. Asim later introduced him to TTP commander Qari Muhammad in Kabul, under whose leadership he pledged allegiance to the banned outfit.
Sutore stated that he came to Peshawar for medical treatment. After recovery, Commander Qari Muhammad instructed him to seek admission at a local madrassa in Peshawar and to begin planning attacks on law enforcement agencies and the target killing of religious scholars.
Following direct orders from Kabul, Sutore began preparing to assassinate a religious scholar in Peshawar but was arrested by security forces before he could execute the plan. Security officials said the confession exposes once again how TTP networks continue to operate from Afghan soil under the guidance of Kabul-based commanders, posing a persistent threat to Pakistan’s internal security.
