Security forces have arrested an Afghan national involved in terrorist activities during an operation in Balochistan, with his confession exposing a well-structured cross-border network targeting Pakistan.

According to security sources, the arrested terrorist admitted during initial interrogation that he is a resident of Paktika province, Afghanistan, and had been actively involved in attacks against Pakistani security forces. He revealed that his brother is a commander within the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), confirming deep-rooted links between operatives and leadership across the border.

The suspect disclosed that he, along with other terrorists, participated in armed clashes near the Pak-Afghan border. Following these engagements, the group retreated into Afghanistan before attempting to re-enter Pakistan to carry out further attacks.

During one such infiltration attempt, the terrorist and his associates were surrounded and apprehended by Pakistani security forces. He confirmed spending time in custody before returning to Afghanistan due to illness, only to later rejoin terrorist activities and attempt infiltration again. On his subsequent entry, he was arrested in the Kuchlak area of Balochistan.

Security officials further revealed that the suspect possessed Afghan identification documents and had fraudulently acquired Pakistani documents, enabling his movement across the border and access to operational areas within Pakistan.

This arrest comes amid mounting evidence of Afghan soil being used for orchestrating terrorist activities inside Pakistan. On April 3, security forces foiled an infiltration attempt in North Waziristan, eliminating eight terrorists, two of whom were confirmed to be Afghan nationals. That incident served as fresh evidence of cross-border involvement in attacks against Pakistan.

Officials emphasized that these developments expose an organized pipeline of recruitment, training, and facilitation operating from across the border.

Security forces reiterated their resolve to dismantle such networks and prevent any attempts to destabilize the country, affirming that operations against terrorists will continue with full force to safeguard citizens and national sovereignty.
