Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Tiarza area of South Waziristan, resulting in the killing of an Afghan national affiliated with the so-called suicide unit of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The militant has been identified as Samiullah, also known as Saqib Badaruddin, a resident of Logar province in Afghanistan. Authorities carried out the operation following credible intelligence reports about his presence and involvement in militant activities in the area.
Officials said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the militant’s activities, his connections with cross-border networks, and any role he may have played in planning attacks inside Pakistan. Security agencies reiterated their commitment to neutralising threats posed by proscribed groups and preventing cross-border militancy in the region.
