Afghan Leaders Reveal Terrorist Safe Havens Turning Afghanistan into a “Paradise for Militants”

The Afghan Taliban regime is facing unprecedented criticism for providing safe havens to terrorist groups and facilitating a war-driven economy, Afghan political leaders have revealed. Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF), openly condemned the Taliban’s policies, accusing them of turning Afghanistan into a haven for terrorists while ordinary citizens continue to suffer.

Addressing the media, Massoud stated that the current situation in Afghanistan is a direct result of the Taliban regime’s mismanagement and collusion with terrorist networks. “Afghanistan today has become a hell for its people and a paradise for terrorist organizations,” he said. Massoud highlighted that, in addition to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (Fitna al-Khawarij), more than twenty other militant groups are actively operating in the country under Taliban oversight.

Drawing parallels to history, Massoud warned that Afghanistan is repeating the mistakes of the past, citing the Taliban’s previous sheltering of Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden. “What happened before is happening again,” he said, emphasizing that the Afghan Taliban’s support for terrorists continues unabated.

Security and regional experts agree with Massoud’s assessment, noting that the Afghan population is increasingly hostile toward the Taliban due to their use of Afghan territory as a launchpad for cross-border terrorism. Analysts point out that the regime’s governance is widely seen as authoritarian and complicit in sustaining terrorist networks, leaving Afghan civilians caught between violence and oppression.

Massoud further stated that the National Resistance Front’s opposition to the Taliban remains steadfast. “Our hatred for this regime will never diminish,” he asserted, calling for an immediate end to the Taliban’s support of terrorist infrastructure.

Experts also underscore that Afghanistan’s emerging identity as a “terrorist paradise” undermines not only regional security but also the rights and safety of Afghan citizens. The warning from political leaders and security analysts highlights growing domestic and international concerns over the Taliban regime’s policies and its facilitation of extremist networks.
