Two police personnel, including the Additional Station House Officer (SHO) of Yakeh Ghund Police Station, were martyred and another officer was critically injured after terrorists ambushed a police mobile in Yakeh Ghund tehsil on Friday.

According to police sources, the attack occurred near the Machni area along the Warsak Left Canal, where terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on a police mobile patrol.

As a result of the attack, Additional SHO Zait-ur-Rehman and police personnel Noor Zeeb embraced martyrdom, while another officer sustained critical injuries and was shifted for medical treatment.

A heavy police contingent rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the attack. The area was cordoned off, and a search operation was launched to trace and apprehend the terrorists involved.

The latest attack adds to the continuing wave of terrorist violence targeting law enforcement personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security forces and police have intensified intelligence-based operations across the province in recent months as part of broader efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent further attacks.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the identity or affiliation of the terrorists, while the search operation in the area remains underway.
