In a major diplomatic embarrassment for India, the United States has refused to endorse Indian claims of Pakistani involvement in the recent Pahalgam incident, dealing a serious blow to New Delhi’s already crumbling narrative.
According to credible international media outlets, India’s latest attempt to pin blame on Pakistan without concrete evidence has backfired again. This time, Washington’s refusal to validate any intelligence supporting Indian accusations has only intensified the pressure on Modi’s government, already grappling with growing international scepticism.
“The false flag drama has failed,” said diplomatic sources. “The U.S. decision to withhold confirmation of Indian intelligence has not only weakened India’s position but exposed its long-standing habit of blaming Pakistan without proof.”
The embarrassment comes after DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry categorically denied Indian allegations of cross-border aerial assaults, calling them “baseless propaganda.” Pakistan has maintained its stance of innocence and even proposed an independent investigation, a proposal India rejected without explanation.
U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, in a press conference, refrained from endorsing Indian claims and stated, “We will not comment on intelligence matters. We’re in contact with both sides and support a responsible resolution.”
Analysts say this non-committal yet telling stance by the U.S. undermines India’s credibility. Political observers argue that if India genuinely had proof, it should welcome independent investigation, not run from it.
“India’s refusal to allow neutral inquiry raises serious questions. If there’s real evidence, why hide it?” one analyst asked. “Pakistan’s demand for transparency has now been quietly echoed by Washington.”
The silence from Washington has spoken louder than words, and it’s echoing across diplomatic circles. For New Delhi, the fallout from this failed attempt at international manipulation may be just beginning.
