Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Shawal area of North Waziristan, targeting a secret hideout of the banned terrorist group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). During the operation, two khawarij were killed while several others managed to escape.
Security sources confirmed that a cache of weapons, explosive materials, and communication devices was recovered from the scene. In response, a large-scale search operation is underway in the surrounding areas to locate the fleeing khawarij and neutralize any remaining threats.
In a related development, khawarij commander Minhaj—who was killed in a separate clash with security forces in Shawal, North Waziristan—was buried quietly in the Nargasi cemetery of Azam Warsak, South Waziristan.
According to local sources, only 10 to 20 individuals attended the funeral, and local religious scholars reportedly refused to lead the funeral prayer due to Minhaj’s involvement in terrorism.
Security forces remain vigilant as part of their ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorist elements and ensure lasting peace in the region.
