Khyber District: A fierce clash broke out between fighters of two proscribed terrorist outfits—Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), declared as Fitnah Al-khwarij by the state, and Lashkar-e-Islam—in the Tirah Valley’s Tharay Chowk area, situated on the border of the Zakha Khel and Shalobar tribes under the 27 Brigade command area.

According to local sources, the confrontation erupted over a defection dispute when a terrorist of Lashkar-e-Islam reportedly joined the TTP. The former group questioned the TTP’s decision, stating that the individual was previously associated with their ranks. TTP fighters allegedly responded that the individual was dissatisfied and had willingly joined them.

The argument escalated into heavy gunfire, resulting in casualties and injuries on both sides, though exact figures remain unconfirmed.
