QUETTA — The militant killed during the clearance operation following the attack on the Jaffar Express has been identified as Wajid Baloch from Turbat — the same individual previously declared a “missing youth” by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC).
BYC had earlier run a state-opposing campaign on social media over Wajid’s alleged disappearance, attempting to paint him as a victim of enforced disappearance. However, security sources confirmed he was actively involved in terrorist activities and had joined a militant group targeting security forces.
This revelation has once again exposed BYC’s strategy of masking armed militants as innocent civilians to gain public sympathy and malign the state. According to officials, this is not the first time BYC has propagated misinformation to shield insurgents under the guise of human rights advocacy.
The incident underscores the growing challenge of disinformation in conflict zones and raises serious questions about the credibility of such narratives promoted by separatist sympathizer groups.
