Terror Plot Foiled: Explosives Recovered from Mosque in Swat

SWAT – In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the CTD and local police carried out a joint intelligence-based operation at a mountainous mosque in Parkando Banda foiling a terror plot, within the jurisdiction of Khurshid Khan Shaheed Police Station, Swat district.

During the operation, a stash of explosive materials buried near the mosque was successfully recovered, averting what security officials believe could have been a planned terrorist attack.

The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) safely secured the materials and transported them to Khwazakhela Police Station for further investigation and forensic analysis.

Recovered Items Include:

  • 01 remote control

  • 02 electronic circuits

  • 03 battery cells

  • 04 packets of explosive material

  • 04 meters of prima cord

  • 01 plastic drum

  • 02 grease tins

  • 02 hunting jackets

  • 02 trousers

  • 01 handbag

  • 04 caps

  • 01 shawl

Security officials suspect the items were intended for use in future militant activities in the region. The swift action by CTD and local police has likely thwarted a serious threat to peace and security in the valley.

Investigations are ongoing to trace those responsible for stockpiling the materials.
