Afghan media has made shocking claims that a senior Taliban intelligence official, Abdul Rahim Hamza, was killed by a teen boy allegedly kept for sexual abuse.

Afghan media alleged that the teen, reportedly abused by the Taliban officer, turned on his abuser and shot him in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of Kabul, specifically near the 13th and 18th districts.

Reports claimed that Hamza was first deputy for foreign intelligence, appointed by senior Taliban leadership. The group released photos allegedly showing Hamza after the fatal shooting.

Afghan media reports further condemned what he called a “culture of paedophilia” within the Taliban, stating that such abuse of minors has been widely documented and reported by international media.

So far, there has been no official comment from the Taliban or independent verification of the incident. The story has sparked outrage and raised concerns about ongoing human rights abuses under Taliban rule.
