The Afghanistan Liberation Front (ALF) has claimed responsibility for an attack on Taliban outposts in Kapisa province, saying at least three Taliban fighters were killed and two others wounded in a rocket and machine-gun assault.

In a statement, the group said its fighters launched the pre-planned attack at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday in the Pūz-e Kham-Zargar area of Hesa-ye Awwal Kohistan district.

The assault, involving rocket fire and machine-gun barrages against Taliban positions, reportedly lasted around 20 minutes. The casualty claims could not be independently verified.

The front alleged that Taliban forces in the Kham-Zargar area had recently intensified harassment of local residents and resorted to stealing and looting their property. It presented the attack as a response to the Taliban’s conduct in the area.

The latest claim comes amid continued armed opposition to Taliban rule in Afghanistan, with groups such as the Afghanistan Liberation Front reporting attacks against Taliban positions and personnel. Independent confirmation of the reported casualties and circumstances of the attack was not immediately available.
