A joint search and strike operation was conducted by police, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces in areas under Domel Police Station and Township in Bannu to curb terrorist and criminal activities and strengthen security.
The operation involved searches in multiple locations and checks of suspicious individuals and sites as part of efforts to maintain law and order, prevent criminal activities and protect residents.
The joint action comes amid continued counterterrorism efforts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to prevent terrorist movement and deny hostile elements space to operate.
In a related development in Central Kurram, a jirga of local elders and community representatives from Javadra, Torghar, Laghro Pakha and adjoining areas reaffirmed its commitment to denying terrorists shelter, protection or facilitation. During the meeting, participants were briefed on the security situation and recent operations, in which three terrorists were reported eliminated.
The elders pledged full cooperation with security forces and were urged to immediately report any terrorist presence or suspicious movement, reinforcing the importance of public cooperation in ongoing counterterrorism efforts.
