Khwarij, Terrorist Quadcopter Attack, Mir Ali Operation

A child was martyred and seven others were injured when Khwarij deliberately targeted a civilian population with a quadcopter attack in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, during a security forces’ intelligence-based operation against terrorists.

According to information received, security forces were conducting an intelligence-based operation against Khwarij in the area when the terrorists used a quadcopter bomb against the civilian population, apparently to divert the attention of security personnel and facilitate their escape.

The attack resulted in eight children being injured, sources said. One of the injured children later succumbed to his wounds, while two others remain in critical condition.

Security forces immediately reached the site after receiving information about the incident and rescued the injured children. They were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for emergency medical treatment before being transferred to Bannu under the supervision of security forces for further treatment.

The incident highlights the threat posed by terrorists using remotely operated aerial devices in populated areas, putting civilians, particularly children, at risk while attempting to evade security operations.

Security forces have consistently prioritized the protection of civilian populations during intelligence-based operations. Following the incident, immediate measures were taken for the rescue, evacuation and medical treatment of the affected children.

The deliberate use of an explosive-laden quadcopter against a civilian area, resulting in casualties among children, underscores the risks posed by terrorist tactics that disregard civilian lives and seek to create fear among local residents.
