Afghan resistance groups have claimed a series of attacks against Taliban security and intelligence installations in several provinces, reporting casualties among Taliban personnel and damage to checkpoints, vehicles and government facilities.

The Afghanistan United Front (AUF) claimed that its fighters carried out 68 operations against the Taliban during September, allegedly killing 102 Taliban personnel and wounding 48 others. The figures could not be independently verified.

The National Independence Front (NIF) and National Resistance Front (NRF) have also claimed responsibility for recent attacks targeting Taliban personnel and infrastructure.

The NIF said a rocket attack on September 30 targeted the Taliban intelligence sixth district headquarters in Mazar-i-Sharif, killing five personnel, including deputy head Qari Nasir Ahmad Fateh, and wounding four others. It said the attack also damaged the building and the intelligence facility.

The group claimed another rocket attack on a Taliban checkpoint in Paktia on September 29 killed seven personnel, destroyed two Ranger vehicles and damaged the checkpoint.

According to the NIF, a separate rocket attack on a Taliban security checkpoint in Helmand on October 2 killed four personnel and rendered the post inoperable.

Meanwhile, the NRF claimed that three Taliban personnel were killed and two wounded during an operation in Baghlan on September 30.

The AUF also reported attacks in Ghor, Helmand, Kandahar and Zabul. It claimed an attack on the Taliban governor’s office in Firozkoh on September 29 killed one guard and wounded eight people.

The group further claimed that a grenade attack on the Taliban Information and Culture Department office in Lashkar Gah on October 2 wounded one Taliban personnel. It also reported attacks targeting Taliban personnel in Kandahar and Zabul.

The resistance groups have vowed to continue targeting Taliban military and intelligence infrastructure, indicating that armed opposition to the Taliban authorities remains active across several Afghan provinces.
