Security forces have eliminated another commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an operation targeting his residence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to security sources.
The operation was conducted at the residence of TTP commander Amir Badshah, where security personnel engaged the terrorist during the raid. Amir Badshah was eliminated during the operation.
The action adds to a series of recent operations targeting TTP commanders and key operational figures across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and adjoining tribal districts.
Earlier, security forces eliminated Tarab Mehsud, described as an important TTP commander, during an operation in Makeen, South Waziristan. According to security sources, Tarab Mehsud had remained active in the area and was allegedly involved in the abduction of a shopkeeper from Bannu. His reported activities also included attempts to project a visible TTP presence in populated areas.
In another recent development, Fatehullah alias Saifullah Fateh, identified as a key commander of the banned Jaish Tehreek-ul-Hind and military commander of its Waziristani Karwan faction, was eliminated along with two accomplices in an intelligence-based operation in Bannu. Security sources linked him to targeted killings, attacks on civilians and security personnel, and the abduction and subsequent martyrdom of two Federal Constabulary personnel in Karam Garhi.
The recent pressure on TTP leadership has also extended to operations involving terrorists attempting to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan. Among 27 terrorists eliminated while attempting infiltration through the Ghulam Khan border in North Waziristan was TTP commander Masood Shah alias Maulvi Nusrat, who had reportedly served as the group’s so-called welfare emir in Mianwali.
Pakistan’s recent counterterrorism actions have also targeted senior TTP figures operating from Afghan territory. Akhtar Muhammad, described as a key TTP commander, was among 28 terrorists eliminated in Pakistani airstrikes against terrorist safe havens inside Afghanistan.
Earlier, security forces had also eliminated high-value TTP commander Maulvi Zarar Anbari Mohmand during an intelligence-based operation in Mohmand District.
The repeated targeting of commanders at different levels and in different locations indicates sustained pressure on the TTP’s operational and leadership networks. Intelligence-based operations are continuing across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to identify terrorist commanders, disrupt their networks and prevent them from organizing attacks against civilians and security personnel.
Further details regarding Amir Badshah’s operational role and his links within the TTP network were not immediately available.
