Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign in Balochistan gained further momentum as security forces eliminated nine more terrorists in fresh intelligence-based operations, taking the total number of terrorists neutralized under Operation Shabaan to 52.

According to security sources, the latest joint intelligence-based operations were launched after credible intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists in rugged and mountainous areas of Balochistan. Acting on the information, contingents of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and Balochistan Police carried out coordinated operations, surrounding the suspected hideouts before engaging the terrorists with precision.

During the operations, nine more terrorists were killed after an intense exchange of fire. Security personnel also continued search and clearance operations in the surrounding areas to ensure that no terrorist managed to escape and to dismantle any remaining militant infrastructure.

With the latest success, the number of terrorists eliminated during Operation Shabaan has risen to 52, while the overall tally of terrorists neutralized in security operations across Balochistan since July 5, including Operation Shabaan, has reached 88, reflecting the scale and intensity of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign.

The operations come in the wake of a renewed wave of terrorist violence across Balochistan in recent weeks, during which nearly 45 security personnel and civilians embraced martyrdom in separate attacks carried out by terrorist groups.

In response, Pakistan has adopted what officials describe as a unified national approach to defeating terrorism. During the recent Apex Committee meeting in Quetta, attended by the country’s political and military leadership, participants reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The forum resolved that those responsible for terrorist attacks inside Pakistan would be relentlessly pursued and that their networks and safe havens would be targeted wherever they exist.

Security officials reiterated that counterterrorism operations would continue without interruption until the complete dismantling of terrorist infrastructure in Balochistan. They emphasized that there would be no let-up in intelligence-based operations and that the campaign would continue until the last terrorist threatening Pakistan’s peace and stability is brought to justice or eliminated.

Officials also stressed that the ongoing operations are aimed not only at neutralizing terrorists but at restoring lasting peace, protecting local communities, and preventing terrorist groups from regrouping or re-establishing operational footholds anywhere in the province.
