A vigilant and timely response by local residents successfully thwarted an attempted Khawarij infiltration into the village of Maulana Zeenatullah Badan, Miro Khel Kallay, Mullah Khel tribe, located in Upper Orakzai, according to police sources.
The incident occurred when armed Khawarij reportedly opened fire in the vicinity of the village in an apparent attempt to force their way into the community. Upon receiving information regarding the movement of the militants, local residents acted swiftly and organized an immediate defensive response to prevent the terrorists from entering the village.
Police officials stated that the residents courageously resisted the advancing militants, resulting in an exchange of fire between the two sides. The determined resistance mounted by the local community effectively disrupted the terrorists’ plans and compelled them to retreat without gaining access to the populated area.
According to the police, this was the second consecutive attempt by terrorists to infiltrate the same village. A similar attempt was made a day earlier; however, it was also successfully repelled, preventing the militants from establishing a foothold within the community.
Law enforcement authorities commended the vigilance, unity, and resilience demonstrated by the local population, emphasizing that close cooperation between communities and security institutions remains essential in countering terrorist threats and safeguarding public safety.
The police have intensified security measures in and around the affected area, while search and surveillance operations are being strengthened to track the fleeing militants and prevent any further attempts to destabilize the region. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the protection of local residents through continued coordination with security forces and community stakeholders.
The repeated failure of the Khawarij to penetrate the village reflects both the preparedness of the local community and the effectiveness of collective efforts to deny militants the opportunity to threaten civilian populations. Officials urged residents to remain vigilant and continue reporting any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities, reaffirming that public cooperation remains a critical pillar in preserving peace and security throughout the region.
