Khawarij Assault on Baka Khel Police Station and Fatah Khel Post Thwarted by Security Forces

Early this morning, coordinated attacks by Fitna al-Khawarij on Baka Khel police station and Fatah Khel outpost were successfully repelled by local police and security forces, officials confirmed. According to reports, a prompt and robust response by the police forced the attackers to retreat. At Baka Khel police station, the exchange of fire lasted approximately 45 minutes, while at Fatah Khel outpost, the intense gunfight continued for over an hour.

During the operations, one Khawarij was killed, and several others were believed to have been wounded. The deceased Khawarij was found in possession of a Kalashnikov rifle, hand grenades, and walkie-talkies, indicating a high level of operational preparedness. Security forces are continuing search and clearance operations in the area to neutralize any remaining threats.

Senior officials, including DIG Bannu Region Sajad Khan and DPO Bannu, praised the police personnel for their timely and courageous actions. Additionally, IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, lauded the officers’ dedication and bravery, announcing cash rewards and commendation certificates in recognition of their service.

IGP Zulfiqar Hameed emphasized that the police had effectively thwarted the Khawarij’s plans, protecting civilians and critical infrastructure in the region. He further stressed the importance of vigilance, preparedness, and decisive action in countering Khawarij threats along the province’s volatile areas.
