Coordinated Militant Attacks Target Government Installations Across Balochistan

Authorities in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan have reported a series of coordinated militant activities targeting government installations and establishing road blockades in several areas, according to local sources and law enforcement officials.

One of the incidents occurred in Gulo Shahar, located in Sibi District, where armed men launched an attack on a local police station. The attackers reportedly seized weapons and motorcycles that were parked on the premises before fleeing the scene. During the incident, the militants also set fire to a local office of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

Following the attack, a contingent of law enforcement agencies was immediately dispatched to the area to assess the situation and restore security. Officials confirmed that no casualties have been reported from the Gulo Shahar incident so far.

Meanwhile, in the Karkh area of Khuzdar District, armed individuals reportedly took control of several key government facilities. Local reports indicate that militants seized the police station, a local office of the National Database and Registration Authority, and other government buildings, effectively bringing parts of the town under their control.

The armed group also established multiple road blockades in the area. At Karkh Cross, militants reportedly set up barriers to restrict traffic movement, while another blockade was established at Moola Cross, where the road was completely closed.

In a related development, militants reportedly took control of the police check post at Moola Cross. The facility was subsequently set on fire, and several police personnel stationed at the post were taken into custody by the armed individuals, according to local sources.

Security forces later initiated an operation to restore control in the affected areas. Personnel from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) were deployed to dismantle the road blockades established by the militants. During the operation, clashes were reported, resulting in seven individuals sustaining injuries, officials said.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the condition of the injured or the status of the detained police personnel. Security operations are ongoing in the affected regions as law enforcement agencies work to re-establish control and ensure the safety of local residents.
