Rangers Arrest Highly Wanted Bajaur-Based Terrorist in Karachi

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), acting on precise intelligence, have successfully apprehended a highly wanted terrorist from Bajaur, identified as Dost Muhammad, son of Gul Faraz Khan, in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area. The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in counterterrorism efforts aimed at dismantling active militant networks operating within urban centers.

According to official sources, the arrested individual was involved in a major terrorist attack in November 2020, in which he, alongside other members of the extremist group Fitna al-Khawarij, opened fire on the Assistant Commissioner of Nawagai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and set government machinery ablaze. The incident was registered under serious anti-terrorism provisions at the CTD Police Station, Malakand Region, highlighting the gravity of his criminal activities.

Following the 2020 incident, the suspect remained at large and had established a covert presence in Karachi. Security agencies confirm that Dost Muhammad was actively planning attacks on sensitive locations within the city, working in coordination with other members of the extremist network. His capture has disrupted ongoing plots aimed at destabilizing urban centers.

A spokesperson for Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) stated:
“The arrest of Dost Muhammad demonstrates our commitment to preemptive and intelligence-driven operations. Our forces remain vigilant against all threats targeting public safety and national security.”

Operations to apprehend the fugitive’s remaining associates are currently underway. The arrested suspect has been handed over to the CTD Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for further legal proceedings, ensuring that justice will be served under existing counterterrorism laws.

The arrest reinforces Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism strategy, which emphasizes timely intelligence, urban security enforcement, and inter-agency coordination to dismantle terrorist networks before they can carry out attacks.

Authorities reiterate their call for public vigilance and support, urging citizens to report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies to aid ongoing efforts in maintaining national security.
