Lakki Marwat Police successfully thwarted a major act of terrorism within the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station, preventing what could have resulted in significant loss of life and property. Acting on credible intelligence, law enforcement authorities conducted a timely intelligence-based operation along Ahmad Khel Road, where two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) had been planted with malicious intent.
The explosive devices, containing more than 20 kilograms of explosive material, were carefully recovered and rendered safe by the Bomb Disposal Squad. The swift and coordinated response ensured that the devices were neutralized before they could detonate, thereby safeguarding innocent civilians and averting a potential tragedy.
Police officials confirmed that the operation was launched following a confidential tip-off, demonstrating the effectiveness of intelligence coordination and rapid response strategy. The successful recovery and disposal of the explosive materials underscore the vigilance and operational preparedness of Lakki Marwat Police in countering terrorist threats.
Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, commended the police personnel for their professionalism, courage, and timely action. He praised the officers involved in the operation for their dedication and reaffirmed confidence in the capability of the force to confront and defeat anti-state elements.
District police reiterated that the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains their foremost priority. Officials emphasized that the nefarious designs of terrorists were decisively foiled and that security forces remain fully alert to eliminate any threat to peace and stability in the region.
Authorities have launched further investigations to identify and apprehend those responsible for planting the devices. Law enforcement agencies continue to maintain heightened vigilance across Lakki Marwat to ensure that such attempts to disrupt public order are met with swift and uncompromising action.
