Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, visited Muzaffarabad on Thursday, paying homage at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada-e-Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people.

During the visit, Field Marshal Munir highlighted the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs and praised their enduring struggle for freedom, emphasizing that Indian oppression and violations of human rights have not weakened their resolve. “Kashmir will soon witness a dawn of freedom aligned with the aspirations of its people,” he stated, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to raising the Kashmir issue on all international platforms and advocating its resolution according to United Nations resolutions.

The Army Chief also reviewed the operational readiness of officers and troops stationed in Kashmir, commending their professionalism, morale, and preparedness. He underscored that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully capable of responding immediately and effectively to any act of aggression and maintain complete operational readiness to counter both conventional and hybrid threats.

Following the visit to Muzaffarabad, Field Marshal Munir proceeded to meet troops at the next forward post, where he received briefings on operational arrangements and interacted with soldiers to boost morale. Upon arrival, the Commander of Rawalpindi Corps welcomed the Army Chief.

The visit underscores both Pakistan’s strategic focus on the Kashmir issue and the operational vigilance of its military forces, reinforcing the message that the country remains committed to defending its interests while supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
