A senior security official has categorically denied reports of any large-scale military operation in Tirah Valley, stating that security forces are conducting only intelligence-based actions to maintain stability in the area.
Speaking to media representatives, the official said claims circulating about a major operation were misleading and aimed at creating unnecessary panic. Security sources confirmed that no additional troops have been deployed in Tirah and that routine force posture in the area remains unchanged.
According to the sources, the current weather and terrain conditions are not suitable for any extensive military campaign, further underscoring that reports of a full-scale operation are baseless. They stressed that intelligence-led measures are being carried out strictly to prevent militant regrouping and protect civilian populations.
The official rejected attempts to portray these security measures as confrontational, saying that no narrative could create a rift between the armed forces and the local population. He added that coordination with local communities remains intact.
Referring to the broader security situation, the official said militant groups operating in Balochistan under the banner of deprivation have been exposed and are widely recognized as enemies of peace and development by the local population.
Security sources said counterterrorism efforts across sensitive regions, including Tirah and along the western border, are being carried out in line with directives from the country’s military leadership. They added that operations against terrorist elements will continue until the threat is fully neutralized.
Officials reiterated that ensuring public safety and preventing the spread of disinformation remain key priorities for security institutions.
