Major Terrorist Plot Foiled in Zhob District; Large Cache of Explosives Recovered

Security forces have successfully thwarted a major terrorist plot in the Margha Kabzai area of Zhob district, Balochistan province, following a targeted intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), officials confirmed on [date].

According to CTD sources, the operation was carried out in the Margha Kabzai Zakozai area as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts aimed at preventing militant activity and ensuring the safety and security of the local population. During a comprehensive search of the area, security personnel recovered a significant cache of explosive materials intended for use in terrorist activities.

The recovered items included 29 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), three suicide jackets, and six prima cords, indicating the scale and seriousness of the planned attacks. Officials stated that the timely action by security forces helped avert potential loss of life and damage to critical infrastructure.

A CTD spokesperson noted that the recovery of such a large quantity of explosives underscores the persistent threat posed by militant elements, while also highlighting the effectiveness and vigilance of law enforcement agencies operating in the region. “This successful operation reflects our continued commitment to eliminating terrorist networks and ensuring peace and stability in Balochistan. The CTD, in coordination with other security agencies, remains fully alert and proactive in countering all forms of extremism,” the spokesperson said.

Authorities confirmed that further investigation is currently underway to determine the origin of the recovered materials, identify those involved, and dismantle any associated terrorist networks. Intelligence and forensic teams are analyzing the evidence to establish possible links with banned militant organizations.
