Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan of the Bangladesh Air Force visited Pakistan’s National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad, emphasizing the importance of bilateral military cooperation and the deepening of professional military education and joint training initiatives between the two countries.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Air Chief Marshal Khan met with Lieutenant General Babar Iftikhar, President of NDU, during the visit. Notably, Air Chief Marshal Khan is an alumnus of the National Security and War Course 2010/11, further strengthening the historical ties between the two defence institutions.
During the visit, both sides highlighted the significance of sustained army-to-army engagement and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering collaboration in areas of professional military education, capacity building, and training exchange programs. The discussions reflected the mutual desire to further enhance defence relations and cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Earlier, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan met with Chief of Defence Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, to discuss matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment, and prospects for strengthening bilateral defence and military collaboration.
The delegation also met with Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, to exchange views on professional military cooperation and the evolving regional security dynamics. Both sides expressed a strong commitment to deepening cooperation between the armed forces of the two brotherly nations, including joint exercises, training exchanges, and professional development initiatives.
The visit underscores the longstanding historical ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh and reflects a shared commitment to strengthening defence cooperation, fostering regional stability, and promoting professional military engagement. Both countries reaffirmed their dedication to expanding collaboration in defence training, operational coordination, and strategic dialogue to further cement their military and institutional relations.
This high-level visit marks a significant step toward consolidating defence ties and professional engagement, reinforcing the spirit of mutual respect, trust, and cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
