Timely Security Operation Foils Major Sabotage Attempt in Pishin

Security forces successfully averted a potentially deadly act of sabotage in Balochistan’s Pishin district after safely neutralizing an improvised explosive device concealed in a motorcycle, officials confirmed.

According to police, the incident occurred at Sorkhab Chowk, where unidentified individuals had parked a motorcycle fitted with explosive material in a public area. The situation came to light after locals reported a suspicious vehicle, prompting police to respond immediately.

Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement personnel secured the area and restricted public movement as a precautionary measure. A thorough inspection of the motorcycle raised strong suspicions, leading authorities to summon the bomb disposal squad.

Police officials said the bomb disposal unit defused the device with professional expertise, preventing what could have caused significant loss of life and property. Preliminary assessments revealed that the motorcycle was rigged with approximately 1.5 kilograms of explosive material, including ball bearings and metal fragments intended to maximize damage.

Following the operation, police and other security agencies launched a comprehensive search operation in and around the area to trace those responsible. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and authorities are examining possible links to broader sabotage or militant networks.

Security officials praised the swift response and coordination among law enforcement units, noting that timely action played a crucial role in neutralizing the threat. They reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety and preventing acts of terrorism across the province.
