Suicide Attack Hits Security Camp in North Waziristan; Hafiz Gul Bahadar-Linked Group Claims Responsibility

A suicide bomber targeted a security camp at the Boya Post in the Datta Khel subdivision of North Waziristan district on Friday, triggering an intense security response and a large-scale clearance operation. Monitoring sources reported that the attack was claimed by the Aswad-ul-Harab Huzaifa suicide bombing squad, affiliated with the Hafiz Gul Bahadar group under the umbrella of Ittihad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan.

According to local police, the attacker used an explosive-laden vehicle or a suicide jacket to carry out the assault. The powerful explosion was heard as far as 25 kilometres away in Miranshah city, while thick smoke was seen billowing from the site. Intermittent firing continued for some time after the blast as security forces moved to secure the area.

Immediately following the attack, the area was cordoned off and a clearance operation was launched to rule out the presence of any additional militants or explosive devices. A heavy contingent of police and security forces reached the site, while special teams of the bomb disposal squad were dispatched to assess the damage and neutralise any unexploded material.

Rescue 1122 and medical teams were also deployed and remained engaged in emergency response and relief activities. Law enforcement agencies began collecting evidence from the scene, and a formal investigation into the incident was initiated.

Security across the area was placed on high alert, and traffic on a key connecting road was temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure. Authorities said assessments of casualties and damage were under way, while security forces continued to maintain heightened vigilance amid the possibility of further threats.
