Militants of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as Fitna al-Khawarij, have stolen donkeys from local tribes in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan, local sources reported.
The militants released a video referring to the stolen animals as “army donkeys,” underscoring both the audacity and desperation of the banned group. Observers noted that the accent and language of the militants in the video do not match the local dialect, suggesting that foreign elements, including Afghan nationals, are involved in targeting local communities and their resources.
This incident follows a similar case in Bannu earlier this September, when the same group reportedly looted an entire herd of cows from a local Muslim family. Those involved in the Bannu theft were later neutralised in security operations, highlighting the sustained pressure on the militants by security forces.
Officials say such acts of theft, combined with public humiliation of local property, reflect the growing desperation of the banned group as external support from its backers has dwindled. Security has been tightened across affected areas, while tribal communities continue to actively resist the militants’ activities, maintaining vigilance over their lands and livestock.
