In a decisive intelligence-based operation (IBO), the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan apprehended three key operatives of proscribed organizations Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) from the Kharaan area of Qalat district. The arrested militants have been identified as Zain Mirza, Aamir Shah, and Rehmatullah.
According to CTD officials, the detained individuals were actively involved in multiple terrorist acts, including the targeted killing of Kharaan’s Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Qasim Baloch. The intelligence-driven operation highlights the department’s ongoing commitment to dismantling terrorist networks in the province.
During the operation, authorities recovered significant material evidence from the suspects, including official police firearms, sub-machine guns, and vehicles previously used in attacks. The seizure of these arms and equipment underscores the operational capabilities of the arrested militants and the serious threat they posed to public safety.
CTD spokespersons emphasized that these arrests reflect the continuous vigilance and proactive measures undertaken by law enforcement to curb terrorism in Balochistan. The department assured the public that the suspects are being thoroughly interrogated to disrupt remaining terrorist networks.
This operation marks a significant success in Balochistan’s counterterrorism efforts, demonstrating the state’s resolve to confront militancy and protect the lives of citizens, including law enforcement personnel serving on the frontlines.
