CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza Strengthens Defence Ties with Maldives

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is on an official visit to the Republic of Maldives, where he called on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), discussions during the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, the global and regional security environment, and avenues for enhanced defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and the Maldives.

During the visit, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also met Minister of Defence Mr. Ghassan Maumoon and the Chief of Defence Force of the Maldives. Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen bilateral military relations and to expand defence collaboration in various domains. The Maldivian civil and military leadership commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism.

The ISPR spokesperson added that upon arrival at the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Headquarters, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was presented a Guard of Honour in recognition of his visit.
