Militants of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), branded as Fitna-al-Hindustan, set fire to road-construction machinery and a generator in Barkhan district, in yet another attempt to obstruct development work in Balochistan.
According to Levies officials, the armed men stormed the site, torched heavy machinery and a generator, and fled under the cover of darkness. No casualties were reported in the incident. Security personnel later reached the spot, secured the area, and launched a search operation.
Local elders and residents condemned the attack, terming it a conspiracy by Fitna-al-Hindustan to halt progress in the province. They vowed that such acts of sabotage would not deter ongoing infrastructure and uplift projects.
BLA has a long record of targeting development initiatives in Balochistan. In March 2025, its operatives attacked a construction camp in Kalat’s Manguchar area, killing four labourers. Security forces have since intensified actions to dismantle the group’s networks across the province.
Officials reaffirmed that development projects will continue despite such attacks. “Peace and prosperity in Balochistan cannot be held hostage by Fitna-al-Hindustan. Those involved will be brought to justice,” a senior security official stated.
